Want to get married in Gibraltar?
Are you considering getting married in Spain? There is so much that appeals. The sunny climate, the beautiful scenery, not to mention the amazing food and wine.
Still a little unsure? Getting married abroad can a very exciting experience but can also be extremely difficult to plan if you’re not familiar with the country, its customs, its marital laws and if you don’t speak the language. That’s where Gibraltar could be the perfect answer to those couples from the UK looking to marry abroad. They have the weather, they have the scenery and yet they speak English and are governed by very similar marital laws as in the UK.
Gibraltar isn’t a huge place, so the choice on where to get married is a little limited, but I’m sure you won’t be put off when you have a look at some of the beautiful marriage venues on offer. Unless you’d like to marry in one of their beautiful churches, a simple civil ceremony would be held at the registry office at Gibraltar town hall. For those of you looking for something a little different then you could take advantage of these licensed venues:
The Caleta Hotel – http://caletahotel.com/
The O’Callaghan Eliott Hotel - http://www.eliotthotel.com/
The Rock Hotel – http://www.rockhotelgibraltar.com/
The Dell Alameda Botanic Gardens – http://www.gibraltargardens.gi/
Top of the Rock, Mons Calpe Suite, Cable Car Station – http://www.monscalpesuite.com/
There is certainly a wonderful choice of luxury hotels, gardens or mountain tops for you to choose from, all with wonderful views over to the coast of Africa.
Like with any wedding abroad, your guests can build this into a holiday and spend time with you enjoying all the Gibraltarian delights. From the world famous monkeys to the Moorish castle, Gibraltar has lots to offer and that’s before we even discuss the beautiful beaches and tax free shopping! It’s also the perfect location if you wish to visit Spain’s charming Andalucía.
Looking for an exotic honeymoon destination but don’t want to travel too far? The exhilarating souks and riads of Morocco are only a short ferry ride away.
What’s not to like? So if you fancy yourself the next John Lennon and Yoko Ono (who married in Gibraltar in 1969, as did Sean Connery, twice!) or Charles and Di (they honeymooned in Gibraltar in 1981 as did Roger Moore – bit of a Bond theme happening here…) then you should definitely consider Gibraltar for your special day.
